New pilot licensing regulations commence on 1 September 2014. CASA is currently reviewing and, where necessary, updating all website content to ensure it correctly reflects these regulations. Please note the information on this page might be outdated. If you have any questions about the new licensing regulations please contact your local Aviation Safety Advisor or CASA’s Licensing and Registration Centre for up to date advice.
This Renewal Notification page only applies to ATOs/flight examiners conducting flight tests outside a training and checking organisation, who are required to undertake the renewal of their flight instructor rating and/or command instrument rating with CASA or a person approved by CASA, as per Direction CASA 107/11.
To avoid delays, ATOs/flight examiners must notify CASA via this renewal notification page at least 4 weeks prior to the expiry of their rating/s to request a flight test, as per ATOM section 2.3.2.
All items marked ‘required’ in the form below must be completed. ATOs/flight examiners are reminded that if their flight instructor rating has no limitation, that is they are approved to conduct flight training in a multi-engine aircraft, then every second renewal of their flight instructor rating should be undertaken in a multi-engine aircraft, as per ATOM section 14.2, and the applicable button selected in the below form.
Once the form is submitted, a member of the FTTO will respond via the provided email address.
If you are experiencing difficulties using this online form, please contact the Flight Training & Testing Office on (02) 8651 3085 or email ATOrenew@casa.gov.au.
