Is your aviation medical due soon?
Since 21 March 2016, all aviation medicals are now completed online by pilots and air traffic controllers (ATCs).
Pilots and ATCs with a medical due from this date will receive an email notification from CASA advising you that your medical certificate will expire and directing you to confirm personal details and update your medical history in the new Medical Records System (MRS.)
Applications for a medical certificate will need to provide details of a complete medical history. If you are not sure of an answer, you can select Unsure in the questionnaire and your DAME will address the issue at the time of your medical examination.
The information entered for your first medical certificate in the new MRS will be retained for future renewals. You will only have to update information where there has been a change.
The following checklists may assist pilots and ATCs in navigating the renewal process. They provide step by step advice on what you need to know and do for the particular renewal process that applies to you.
