Renew your certificate
You can renew your remotely piloted aircraft operator's certificate (ReOC) online through the myCASA portal if:
- your certificate is due to expire within the next 3 months
- you don't need to change any information or details
- you are the Chief Executive Officer of your organisation.
Before you renew
You'll need to have a myCASA account before you can renew your certificate online. Learn how to:
- check if you already have an account
- create a new account
- link your individual account to your organisation.
Submit your application on time
We recommend you submit your application at least 5 business days before your ReOC expires. This will allow enough time for us to process your renewal.
If your ReOC expires before your renewal is processed, you'll no longer be authorised to operate. You will not be allowed to operate again, until you receive your renewed certificate.
If your ReOC expires
If you don't submit your application before midnight AEST on your renewal due date, your ReOC will expire.
Expired certificates can't be renewed, so you'll need to submit an initial issue application and re-pay the initial issue fees.
Certificate changes and other authorisations
You can only renew your application online if you don't need to make changes to your certificate. If you need to change or update any details, you'll need to complete and submit the paper based Application for RPA operator’s certificate (ReOC) subsequent Issue form 101-03 (pdf 596.08 KB).
Authorisations such as additional permissions or area approvals, can't be renewed through myCASA. If you hold any additional authorisations that renewal, you'll need to complete and submit the paper based Application for RPA flight authorisation (area approval / permission) form 101-09 (pdf 1.17 MB).
- Step 1 – Log in to myCASA
- Step 2 – Select Renew my ReOC
- Step 3 – Tick the declaration box and proceed to payment
- Step 4 – Pay the renewal fee
- Step 5 – Payment confirmation
- Step 6 – Renewal confirmation
- Step 7 – Check your details
Step 1 – Log in to myCASA
Log in using your account email and password.
If you've previously applied for an aviation reference number (ARN) online, you can use these details as your myCASA log in.
If you don't have an account or ARN log in, select Create an account.
Step 2 – Select Renew my ReOC
You can only renew your certificate if its expiry date is within the next 3 months.
If you're able to renew, you'll see the screen below.
Step 3 – Tick the declaration box and proceed to payment
Your application summary will include the total fee you'll need to pay.
Read the declaration and tick the check box, then click Proceed to payment and you'll be directed to the Westpac payment gateway.
Step 4 – Pay the renewal fee
The payment gateway screen should look like the example image below.
Enter your credit card holder's:
- card number
- expiry date, and
- verification number (last three digits on the back of the card), then click Next.
Step 5 – Payment confirmation
Check you've entered all details correctly, then click Confirm. You should then see a payment confirmation screen, like the one below.
You'll then be automatically sent back to myCASA.
Step 6 – Renewal confirmation
After you’ve successfully submitted your application and paid the fee, you’ll receive a confirmation message like the one below.
Step 7 – Check your details
Once we process your application, you’ll receive an email containing your renewed certificate. Please keep this email as proof of your renewal.
Your myCASA ‘Dashboard’ (homepage) will then show your new certificate details, including its new expiry date.
It’s a good idea to check your new certificate details are correct. You can do this by clicking on your ReOC number, as shown on the image examples below.
