Chief Executive Officer and Director of Aviation Safety
Canberra based with a national focus
The Chief Executive Officer and Director of Aviation Safety (CEO/DAS) provides strategic leadership and management to advance the program of work relating to the regulation of civil aviation safety in Australia and maintain CASA’s standing as a world leading aviation safety regulator.
We are seeking an individual with experience in leading large complex organisations, superior influencing and engagement skills and resilience to lead CASA in providing support and oversight of aviation safety.
The successful candidate will engage in a collaborative and productive way with other Australian and state government agencies and build the connections between government and the aviation community. This role requires the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with our Minister (Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development), CASA’s Board, Australian Government aviation safety partners, aviation institutions and associations, and the Australian public.
As CEO/DAS, you will be required to represent and advocate Australia’s civil aviation safety program in a complex, dynamic and politically sensitive environment. You will also provide clear policy direction, lead transformational change, manage risks and strengthen relationships with the aviation community, government and the Australian public.
