Get permission to fly
Congratulations on becoming licensed and certified. For some operations, you will need permission to fly under the drone safety rules (set out in Civil Aviation Safety Regulations Part 101). Depending on where you intend to fly, we might require a safety case and risk assessment.
Operations that require approval
Flight authorisation permissions may take more than 21 days to complete once we receive payment.
*EVLOS requirements see Part 101 (Unmanned Aircraft and Rockets) Manual of Standards – Chapter 5
Flight authorisation area approvals can take 7 - 28 days to complete once we receive payment.
^BVLOS applications may take longer as this requires coordination with the CASA Office of Airspace Regulation.
To get approval, the approved Chief Remote Pilot must complete the Flight Authorisation Application Form (101-09) and submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You must include the supporting information and risk assessment when making the application.
We will provide you with an estimate with the number of hours it will take to assess and process your application once we have received all the requested information. You will need to pay the cost estimate before we will start assessing your application.
