Michelle Massey

Regional manager, southern region

Operations division, Melbourne

Working with people with energy and drive has always inspired me, and at CASA, we have a supportive and flexible working environment filled with people passionate about the industry. Every single employee has a stake in contributing to aviation safety - knowing that you're contributing in this space is what it is all about.

As regional manager (RM) for southern region (Victoria and Tasmania) I manage a large multi-disciplinary team and I truly enjoy the collaborative work environment that CASA offers.

CASA is a great choice for aviation professionals wanting to see a different part of the industry. I started my career in industry, and have moved back and forth between industry and CASA twice. This is my second stint with CASA, and as the southern region's RM, I get to see a broad perspective of Australia's aviation industry.

I lead a team of 50 professionals who have daily interaction with industry participants.  My office oversees 350 aviation organisations - we are responsible for a broad range of activities from entry control and surveillance, to engaging with the aviation community on safety issues to find lasting solutions to identified problems.

I am excited to be part of our current program of change, and would encourage anyone who wants to make a difference to aviation safety in Australia to consider CASA as an employer.
