New aerodrome rules are now in effect
The new rules for aerodromes are now in effect. We have provided a number of tools to support you as you make the transition to the new rules. To learn more visit the understanding the new aerodrome rules webpage.
Under the new rules there is a requirement to appoint an Accountable Manager. All operators of existing aerodromes should have a senior manager who currently has overarching responsibility for the regulatory compliance, operation and maintenance of their aerodrome. Whilst the requirement to have an Accountable Manger takes effect on the date of commencement, a formal record of the position in the aerodrome manual is not required until the revised or new manual is submitted to CASA.
This week we’ve released the final of four free training packages for aerodromes. Log into AviationWorx through the myCASA portal.
Have your say
Aerodrome pavements are critical to the safe, efficient and economic operation of the aerodrome. To ensure that hazards to aircraft are minimised they must be constructed and maintained in a suitable condition for the particular demands of the intended aircraft operations.
You are now invited to have your say on two advisory circulars (ACs) related skid resistance and strength ratings of aerodrome pavements on our Consultation Hub before the 10 September.
Email email@example.com or get in touch with your local aerodrome inspector.
