New aerodrome rules – one week to go
On this page
New aerodrome rules come into effect from 13 August 2020. To make it easier for you, we’ve put together a list of all the information you’ll need to ensure you’re ready.
The updated Part 139 regulations, manual of standards (MOS), the Part 139 Consequential, Application, Transitional and Savings provisions (CATS) regulations and the Part 139 MOS transitional arrangements are available on the Federal Register of Legislation.
To give aerodromes more time to transition to the new rules during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve extended the transition period with some aerodromes having until 2022 to complete their transition to the new rules.
We’ve created a change summary which captures what is changing with the new rules.
There are a number of advisory circulars associated with the new rules available. You can find a schedule on our reviewing the rules for aerodromes page, with the those published on our advisory circular page in the airspace and aerodromes section.
We will also be consulting on some of these, so make sure you are subscribed to our consultation and rule making mailing list.
We’ve created a sample aerodrome manual and guide to help you create and/or update your aerodrome manual. Don’t forget you can also use our free manual authoring and assessment tool (MAAT) to create and/or update your manual.
Our consultation hub contains the feedback from public consultation on the updated rules and hosts other relevant consultations.
