Safety management: a toolkit for aviation
CASA's Safety Management Toolkit has been developed to provide aviation
industry organisations with information and practical advice to help establish and
maintain a safety culture in their operation.The intention is that, over time, new
information resources will be added to the toolkit to provide a comprehensive
source of advice to address the many dimensions of safety management.
At present the toolkit features three booklets and two DVDs, covering safety management and the CEO, managing change in the aviation industry and industry best practice safety management systems.
The Safety Management and the CEO booklet details the vital role aviation industry leaders play in maintaining and improving safety.
Managing Change in the Aviation Industry provides an ovewiew of the change management process and guidance and practical tips to deal with it effectively.
The third booklet, Safety Management Systems – Best Practice, along with one of the DVDs in the toolkit, provides case study examples of aviation organisations operating best practice safety management systems.
The other DVD in the toolkit provides a copy of the current CASA safety management systems material.
Over the coming months additial information materials for inclusion in the toolkit will be produced on the topics of:
- Risk management
- Hazard identification
- Reporting and analysis
- Administration aspects
- and more.
The availability of new materials for the toolkit will be widely promoted by CASA with industry organisations to be contacted directly.
