Review of Australian ADs

Since the 1950s, CASA has issued Airworthiness Directives (ADs) to address unsafe conditions on aircraft and aeronautical equipment. These ADs have been based on State of Design ADs, manufacturer’s service bulletins, foreign airworthiness legislation, and service defects. Currently, CASA has about 10,500 active ADs, of which some 3,600 are potentially unique to Australia. These unique Australian ADs have never been reviewed.

CASA has set up a project to review these unique ADs with the objective of cancelling ADs that are no longer required or no longer address an unsafe condition, and to update others. CASA expects to cancel a significant proportion of these unique Australian ADs.

"Hide cancelled ADs" button

As many AD series now contain many cancelled ADs, a button has been added to each series index page which allows users to filter out cancelled ADs. Clicking on the button will result in only active ADs being displayed. All ADs can be displayed by clicking on the button again.
