CASR Part 137
Aerial application operations (other than rotorcraft)
CASR Part 137 prescribes the regulatory requirements and standards governing aerial application operations using aeroplanes and to a person who is applying for an AOC, on or after the commencing day, to authorise the person to undertake application operations.
Aerial Application Operations
Aerial Application Operation (or application operation) means:
- a flight that is carried out by an aeroplane to apply application material; and
- a flight by an aeroplane that is for, or partly for, 1 or more of the following:
- inspection of a work area;
- pilot training or checking relating to a flight mentioned in paragraph (a);
- training of a crew member other than the pilot;
- travel from a landing area to a work area and back;
- the carriage of a passenger specified in regulation 137.135 for a purpose set out in that regulation; and
- preparation for any activities mentioned in paragraphs (a) and (b).

Transition support
CASR Part 137 took effect on 26 May 2007. There is a one year transition period ending on 25 May 2008. Fixed wing aerial agricultural AOC holders must transition to CASR Part 137 by the period end date in order to continue to operate.
