Sub-committee
The Sport & Recreational Aviation Standards sub-committee is a joint CASA/aviation community forum for the development of regulations and standards pertaining to recreational aviation, including aircraft operations, administration organisations, pilot licensing and maintenance.

Current activity
Over the last twelve months this sub-committee has been involved in the development of Parts 103, 105 & 149 Sports package, as well as CASR Part 131 (formerly 115B-Ballooning).
Terms of reference
The Sport & Recreational Aviation Standards sub-committee is responsible for:
- reviewing and analysing all information relating to assigned tasks;
- evaluating and developing options and making recommendations on the various proposals;
- identifying, documenting and raising issues that need attention / resolution and reporting to the SCC as required;
- reviewing the impact of proposals using the Legislative Change Proposal criteria;
- discussing and clarifying the role and expectations of sub-committee members early in the process to avoid misunderstandings;
- fostering balanced and complete discussion of proposals working through all technical, legal and policy issues relating to sport aviation aircraft operations, administration organisations and pilot licensing.
