CASR Part 175 – Aeronautical information services

CASA will develop a new CASR Part 175 to cover the regulatory, integrity and management requirements of aeronautical information service (AIS) provision. This need is arising both from a Government philosophy of removing Airservices regulatory authority and the accelerating need to ensure data integrity and transferability for use in aircraft flight management systems, particularly in support of reduced tolerance navigation capability. International pressure is growing rapidly and the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government are also playing a leading role. The responsibility was assigned to CASA as part of the Airspace Act.

Who Part 175 affects

  • Airlines;
  • Aircraft operators;
  • Pilots; and
  • Consumers of aeronautical information products.
