Changing the rules

Project AS 05/01
AIP Book Legislative Support

Purpose/Objectives

The purpose of this project is to provide the AIP Book with an appropriate level of legislative support, and to ensure that the AIP correctly reflects current legislative requirements until CASR Part 91 and its associated MOS are implemented.

The AIP is not intended to be a legislative document. In reality, it is the only document easily available to pilots that presents the detail required to comply with legislation. The AIP currently does not enable an accurate method for the pilot to determine what is legislatively required and what is merely good advice. This project sets out to develop covering legislative instruments to support the current AIP, drawn from the draft Part 91 MOS.
