Appointments of Assistant Director, Aviation Safety Compliance and Group General Manager, Corporate Services

CASA is pleased to announce the appointment of two new executives.

Laurie Foley will take up the new post of Assistant Director, Aviation Safety Compliance, answering to the Director of Aviation Safety on all issues of facilitating and controlling entry, surveillance of the industry and ensuring enforcement of the regulations in accordance with Government and CASA Board policies.

Laurie has been a member of the CASA Board for the past 12 months. He resigned from his position as a member of the CASA Board on 22 June to avoid any possible concerns of conflict of interest while he was being considered for the Assistant Director position. Mick Toller, CASA's new Director of Aviation Safety, described him as the best qualified candidate in a strong field and welcomed the experience and expertise Laurie would bring to the new executive team.

David Stephens will be the Group General Manager, Corporate Services, with responsibility for the business functions of the Authority. He has experience in a number of fields in the private sector and more recently has been employed in the Department of Administrative Services of both the ACT and Commonwealth Governments.
