Perth's pilots will be safer flyers
Perth's pilots have a special chance to brush up on their safety skills this weekend.
An important aviation safety forum is being held to talk about a range of critical air safety issues.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is running the day-long forum for pilots at Rendezvous Observation City tomorrow (Saturday 15 May).
CASA is bringing together a range of aviation experts to help pilots upgrade their safety skills and learn the latest developments in national and international aviation.
CASA's Assistant Director Aviation Safety Promotion, Mike Smith, says all pilots will benefit from the safety forum.
"Pilots of all ages and experience will find valuable information at the forum they can use in their everyday flying," Mr Smith says.
"Issues being covered include developments in search and rescue, safety and risk management when flying, the legal obligations of pilots and taking lessons from accidents.
"As well, there'll be a special presentation for up and coming pilots who are trying to win a job with a major airline to make a career of flying.
"The whole day costs pilots nothing, they'll learn a lot and there's lucky door prizes and other giveaways."
