Moree air safety workshop
A special air safety workshop for local pilots is being held in Moree this week.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is staging the free AvSafety workshop in Moree on Wednesday 24 September 2008.
The workshop is being run in conjunction with the Moree Aero Club.
Pilots will be given extra training in a range of key safety areas, including flying in bad weather and flying at aerodromes without air traffic control.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the workshop is part of a national regional air safety campaign and will help to improve safety at Moree and throughout the north-west.
"Giving pilots from Moree extra training will lift their safety skills to even higher levels," Mr Gibson says.
"All pilots receive comprehensive training but this workshop means they will be even better equipped to fly safely at all times and deal with emergencies.
"Moree has a good air safety record but accidents do happen and everyone in aviation must keep working hard to make the local skies safe."
The workshop is being held at the Moree Aero Club on Wednesday 24 September from 6pm.
All local pilots are urged to attend.
CASA is hosting a free BBQ on the night for everyone who takes part in the workshop.
