Deniliquin air safety workshop
A special air safety workshop for local pilots is being held in Deniliquin next week.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is staging the free AvSafety workshop in Deniliquin on Wednesday 17 September 2008.
The workshop is being run in conjunction with the Deniliquin Aero Club.
Pilots will be given extra training in a range of key safety areas, including pilot skills and flying at aerodromes without air traffic control facilities.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the workshop is part of a national regional air safety campaign and will help to improve safety at Deniliquin and throughout the Riverina.
"Giving pilots from Deniliquin and the Riverina extra training will lift their safety skills to even higher levels," Mr Gibson says.
"All pilots receive comprehensive training but this workshop means they will be even better equipped to fly safely at all times and deal with emergencies.
"Deniliquin has a good air safety record but accidents do happen and everyone in aviation must keep working hard to make the local skies safe."
The workshop is being held at the Deniliquin Aero Club on Wednesday 17 September from 6pm.
All local pilots are urged to attend.
CASA is hosting a free BBQ on the night for everyone who takes part in the workshop.
