Esperance air safety workshop
A special air safety workshop for local pilots is being held in Esperance this week.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is staging the free AvSafety workshop in Esperance on Friday 18 July 2008.
The workshop is being run in conjunction with the Esperance Aero Club.
Pilots will be given extra training in a range of key safety areas, including flying in bad weather and pilot skills.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the workshop is part of a national regional air safety campaign and will help to improve safety at Esperance and across Southern WA.
“Giving pilots from Esperance and Southern WA extra training will lift their safety skills to even higher levels,” Mr Gibson says.
“All pilots receive comprehensive training but this workshop means they will be even better equipped to fly safely at all times and deal with emergencies.
“Esperance has a good air safety record but accidents do happen and everyone in aviation must keep working hard to make the local skies safe.”
The workshop is being held at the Esperance Aero Club on Friday 18 July from 6pm.
All local pilots are urged to attend.
CASA is hosting a free BBQ on the night for everyone who takes part in the workshop.
