Hobart Air Safety Workshop
A special air safety workshop for local pilots is being held in Hobart this week.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is staging the free AvSafety workshop in Hobart on Tuesday 8 July 2008.
The workshop is being run in conjunction with the Aero Club of Southern Tasmania.
Pilots will be given extra training in a range of key safety areas, including human performance and situational awareness.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the workshop is part of a national regional air safety campaign and will help to improve safety at Hobart and throughout southern Tasmania.
“Giving pilots from Hobart and southern Tasmania extra training will lift their safety skills to even higher levels,” Mr Gibson says.
“All pilots receive comprehensive training but this workshop means they will be even better equipped to fly safely at all times and deal with emergencies.
“Hobart and southern Tasmania have a good air safety record but accidents do happen and everyone in aviation must keep working hard to make the local skies safe.”
The workshop is being held at the Aero Club of Southern Tasmania on Tuesday 8 July from 6pm.
All local pilots are urged to attend.
CASA is hosting a free BBQ on the night for everyone who takes part in the workshop.
