Toowoomba Air Safety Workshop
A special air safety workshop for local pilots is being held in Toowoomba this week.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is staging the free AvSafety workshop in Toowoomba on Wednesday 11 June 2008.
The workshop will look at key air safety issues, including flying in bad weather and aircraft maintenance.
Experts from CASA will make presentations on these topics and lead discussions about a range of local safety issues.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the workshop is part of a national regional air safety campaign and will help to improve safety around Toowoomba and throughout the Darling Downs.
“Giving pilots from Toowoomba and the Darling Downs extra training will lift their safety skills to even higher levels,” Mr Gibson says.
“All pilots receive comprehensive training but this workshop means they will be even better equipped to fly safely at all times and deal with emergencies.
“The Darling Downs has a good air safety record but accidents do happen and everyone in aviation must keep working hard to make the local skies safe.”
The workshop is being held at the Darling Downs Aero Club on Wednesday 11 June from 6pm.
All local pilots are urged to attend.
CASA is hosting a free BBQ on the night for everyone who takes part in the workshop.
