Coffs Harbour Air Safety Workshop
A special air safety workshop for local pilots is being held in Coffs Harbour this week.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is staging the free AvSafety workshop in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday 4 June 2008.
The workshop will look at key air safety issues, including operations at local airports and flying in controlled airspace.
Experts from CASA will make presentations on these topics and lead discussions about a range of local safety issues.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the workshop is part of a national regional air safety campaign and will help to improve safety around Coffs Harbour and through out the NSW North Coast.
“Giving pilots from Coffs Harbour and the North Coast region extra training will lift their safety skills to even higher levels,” Mr Gibson says.
“All pilots receive comprehensive training but this workshop means they will be even better equipped to fly safely at all times and deal with emergencies.
“The Coffs Harbour region has a good air safety record but accidents do happen and everyone in aviation must keep working hard to make the local skies safe.”
The workshop is being held at the Coffs Harbour and District Aero Club on Wednesday 4 June from 6pm.
All local pilots are urged to attend.
CASA is hosting a free BBQ on the night for everyone who takes part in the workshop.
