Broome airspace review
A series of special briefings are being held in Broome as part of an airspace review commissioned by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
The review of Broome aerodrome is being conducted to ensure airspace arrangements remain safe and meet air traffic demand.
CASA spokesperson Michelle Harris says the review will assess the type and frequency of operations at the aerodrome, with particular emphasis on passenger transport operations.
“The study will look at safety, efficiency and the provision of equitable access to the airspace for all airspace users,” Ms Harris says.
“The assessment of risks to all airspace users and particularly to passenger transport operations will be a key part of the study.
“CASA’s Office of Airspace Regulation has engaged Strategic Airspace (StratAir) to conduct an independent review of the airspace within 20NM of the aerodrome.
“The review will assess current arrangements at the aerodrome and also provide future recommendations for the airspace and associated air traffic/air navigation services and facilities.”
The Broome sessions will be held on Tuesday 3 June from 10am to 11am and Thursday 5 June from 3pm to 4pm, at the Boardroom, Broome International Airport Terminal Building.
All interested parties are urged to attend.
