Cobden air safety workshop
Special aviation safety workshops for local pilots are being held next weekend in Cobden.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is staging the free workshops as part of a national air safety campaign.
Aviation experts will conduct the workshops in Cobden on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October 2007.
The workshops will look at key air safety issues including flying in bad weather and flying in controlled airspace.
Experts from CASA will make presentations on these topics, as well as leading discussions about local safety issues.
CASA's Peter Gibson says the workshops will make a real difference to air safety in Victoria's south west.
“Education and training are keys to better air safety,” Mr Gibson says.
“This workshop will help to improve air safety in south west Victoria. That's good news for pilots and passengers.
“South west Victoria has a good air safety record but we must continue to work to prevent accidents.”
The workshop is being held at the Cobden Aero Club on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October 2007.
All local pilots are urged to attend.
CASA is hosting a free BBQ for everyone who takes part in the workshops.
