CASA response to Lockhart River accident report
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is implementing a range of initiatives to improve regional airline safety in response to the findings of the investigation into the tragic aircraft accident at Lockhart River in Far North Queensland in May 2005. Fifteen people were killed in the accident.
CASA will detail the initiatives and answer questions about the investigation report.
This will be the only opportunity for media to interview CASA CEO Bruce Byron about the report on Wednesday 4 April. There will be no separate interviews provided on the day.
Please note: The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is releasing the report earlier on the same day.
