Regulatory Services delay in September
Work to turn-on the Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s new regulatory database begins in a fortnight.
This means people in the aviation industry need to act quickly to finalise any regulatory business they planned to undertake in September.
During September CASA will minimise normal regulatory work such as issuing or renewing pilot and engineer licences and issuing, changing or renewing approval certificates for aviation organisations.
People who know they will need CASA’s regulatory services next month should act now by contacting the appropriate CASA office.
Leaving applications until next month may mean delays that can be avoided by prompt action during the next two weeks.
CASA’s new database – known as the Aviation Information Regulatory System – will help to improve the regulatory services provided to the aviation industry.
AIRS replaces an aging database and will hold the details of more than 35,000 current pilots and engineers, several thousand aviation organisations and about 12,000 aircraft registrations.
All this data has to be moved across to AIRS from the old database and this is why CASA has to minimise normal business during September.
Any inconvenience is regretted and CASA will do it’s best to assist people with a genuine need for regulatory business during September.
Normal regulatory services will recommence in October.
