Questions answered on maintenance regulations
A series of questions and answers covering proposed new maintenance regulations have been developed by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority to assist the aviation industry.
The new information covers common questions asked by industry during the development of the proposed regulations.
The proposed new regulations cover aircraft maintenance, maintenance related activities and maintenance personnel.
The information provided covers important areas such as the proposed regulations coming into effect 12 months after they are signed into law, and how in most cases industry will have three years to comply with the new regulations.
Also covered is the consultation process, including that CASA is currently reviewing submissions received in response to Notice of Proposed Rule Making 0407MS, as well as Government and international aspects.
Information specific to aircraft owners, operators and pilots, Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and maintenance organisations is also included.
It is hoped this information will provide clarification on certain areas of the proposed new regulations for the aviation industry.
