CASA roadshow brings new aviation safety messages to Perth
Pilots and aircraft engineers from Perth and surrounding regions will hear the latest in aviation safety when the Civil Aviation Safety Authority takes its air safety roadshow to the West Australian capital next week.
The Perth roadshow is a program of aviation safety workshops and seminars held over four days as part of CASAs 2001 national aviation safety tour.
CASA urges all those in commercial and general aviation in and around Perth to attend as many sessions of the roadshow as possible to update their air safety knowledge and skills.
Aviation safety experts from CASA will be in Perth from Tuesday 23 October to Saturday 27 October.
Other experts making presentations at the roadshow include an accident investigator, a weather forecaster, an aircraft maintenance engineer and an aviation medical consultant, who will talk about hypoxia a potentially life-threatening condition caused by depressurisation.
CASAs Assistant Director, Aviation Safety Promotion, Mike Smith, says aviation is always changing and pilots need to be constantly refreshed.
The roadshow features a series of workshops and seminars that present essential new information for pilots of all levels of experience and qualification, Mr Smith says.
The venue for the Perth weekday aviation safety workshops and seminars, and the all-day Flight Safety Forum on Saturday, is the Hyatt Hotel, Adelaide Terrace.
All sessions are free and registration is required for the weekday workshops (but not the Saturday Flight Safety Forum). Registration can be confirmed by telephone to CASA Aviation Safety Promotion on 131757
