CASA's national aviation safety roadshow comes to Sydney

Pilots in and around Sydney will have an opportunity to learn the very latest in aviation safety when the Civil Aviation Safety Authority brings its air safety "roadshow" to Sydney next week.

The Sydney roadshow is a three-day program of aviation safety workshops and seminars being held as part of CASA's 2001 national aviation safety promotion.

CASA urges all those in commercial and general aviation in and around Sydney to attend as many sessions of the roadshow as possible to update their knowledge and skills.

A team of aviation safety experts from CASA will be in Sydney from Tuesday 9 October to Thursday 11 October for the roadshow, which is being held at Homebush Bay.

Other experts making presentations at the roadshow include a flying instructor, an accident investigator, a weather forecaster, an aircraft maintenance engineer and an aviation medical consultant, who will talk about pilot disorientation during flight - and how to deal with it.

CASA spokeswoman Jane Dargaville says aviation is always changing and pilots need to be constantly refreshed.

"The roadshow features a series of workshops and seminars that present essential new information for pilots of all levels of experience and qualification," Ms Dargaville says.

The venue for the roadshow workshops is the Novotel Homebush Bay, Olympic Boulevard, Homebush Bay.

All sessions are free although registration is required. Registration can be confirmed by telephone to CASA Aviation Safety Promotion on 131757
