CASA board holds open meeting at Avalon
Aviation people from around Australia are being urged to come to the Avalon Air Show this Friday to talk to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Board.
CASA's Board is holding a special open meeting at the Air Show.
The meeting is a chance for everyone involved in aviation to raise issues and ask questions of CASA's policy makers.
The open meeting is CASA's highlight event of the Australian International Airshow at Avalon.
Board members are calling on people from general aviation, maintenance organisations and the airlines to attend the open forum.
They want ideas, criticisms and comments on all aspects of CASA's operations.
In particular, comment is being sought on CASA's active regulatory reform program and the many discussion papers currently being circulated.
Regulatory reform is vital to everyone in the aviation industry and broad input is essential to ensure the final rules are appropriate and successful.
The Board is also keen to hear comment on compliance issues, safety education and training and the delivery of regulatory services.
The open meeting is being held on Friday 16 February, from 11.00am, in Meeting Room 2.
CASA also has a stand at the Avalon Air Show which boasts a wide range of informative and educational aviation products.
These include pilot guides, a CD-ROM on weather for VFR pilots and information on important maintenance issues.
The stand is staffed by experienced CASA people, who are keen to answer questions and talk aviation.
CASA at Avalon is in Hall A, stand 62.
