Flight Crew Exam Information
Introduction to CyberExams
CASA has ownership of the Australian flight crew examination system, called CyberExams. It uses the Internet to deliver required examinations to authorised venues.
The PPL examinations are available at approximately 300 approved flying training schools throughout Australia, where the CFIs are the supervisors.
CASA has delegated an independent company, Assessment Services Proprietary Limited (ASL) to supervise the professional and PPL examinations in a number of cities and towns throughout Australia. Professional examinations are those for the CPL, ATPL, Flight Engineer licence and various ratings.

CyberExams - Candidate's Responsibilities
Candidates are expeced to exercise personal responsibility in planning their own Australian flight crew exam requirements.
CyberExams - Acceptable Types of Photographic ID
A candidate must provide a photographic Identification Document (ID) acceptable to CASA as proof of identity before he/she may be permitted to sit a CASA flight crew exam.
CyberExams - Pre-requisite Qualifications
Exam candidate shall be aware that exam pre-requisite qualifications are mandatory to sit the relevant exam. During online bookings the CyberExams system will assess whether the relevant pre-requisite qualification has been met. However, the system auto-assessment does not include a check for the BAK (Aeroplane) pass. If an online booking is unsuccessful, one possible reason may be due to the absence of the relevant mandatory pre-requisite qualification.
Candidates intending to attempt either the PPL (Aeroplane) or CPL (Aeroplane) exams shall produce for the exam supervisor's sighting, evidence of a BAK (Aeroplane) pass that has been recorded in the candidate's logbook. The PPL licence is NOT a permissible equivalent. Flight Crew Licensing has made provisions for candidates who do not possess a BAK pass that has been recorded in a logbook, because of their training under a system different to that of the Australian Day VFR syllabus. Refer to CPL (Aeroplane) exam pre-requisite requirement - BAK (Aeroplane) Pass for more information.
