Candidate's Responsibilities
CASA and its delegate for the delivery of professional flight crew exams, Assessment Services Proprietary Limited (ASL), aim to meet the flight crew exam needs of eligible candidates in Australia in every reasonable manner.
In turn, CASA and ASL expect eligible candidates to exercise personal responsibilities in planning their own Australian flight crew exam requirements in a manner that may be realistically achieved.
The candidate has to factor into his/her own planning the following requirements:
- Be familiar with CASA flight crew exam policies and procedures, and ASL delivery procedures and company business rules.
- Meet the requirements of these exam policies, procedures, and rules.
- Be aware that an Internet based exam system may be subjected to interruptions beyond the direct control of CASA or ASL (eg. thunderstorms, local area electrical supply interruptions, Telstra network unserviceability, etc).
- Take personal responsibility for own unique needs, plans, restrictions and/or problems.
- Be aware that CASA and ASL do not operate on a '24 hours a day everyday' basis with regards to the delivery of flight crew exams.
- Know that any request to CASA and/or ASL must allow for a reasonably adequate period of time for CASA and/or ASL staff to support any unique requirements of the candidate, where these requirements are not against policies, procedures or rules, and may be reasonably facilitated. Be particularly aware of this requirement during long weekends and festive holiday seasons.
The candidate must ensure he/she is able to provide a photographic Identification Document (ID) acceptable to CASA as proof of identity for the exam session. This photo-ID is required to be presented to the exam supervisor for scrutiny prior to the exam session. If the candidate fails to provide a photo-ID acceptable to CASA, he/she will not be allowed to attempt the exam. In such a case, the candidate shall be solely responsible for the forfeiture of the supervision fees. However, an unattempted exam remains available to the candidate at a latter session without any further CASA exam fee.
