Functions

The Aviation Licensing Branch develops and administers standards applicable to air transport and general aviation operations including aircraft registration and the licensing of flight crew and maintenance personnel.  In doing so it performs a critical barrier-to-entry role for Australian civil aviation.

The Branch comprises of four sections: Flight Crew Licensing, Aircraft Register, Maintenance Personnel Licensing, and the CASA Licensing and Registration Centre (CLARC).

The Branch issues licences, registrations and authorities to published service standards.
