Changes to structure and office moves
CASA’s corporate head office, located in the ACT, moved from Civic to Woden during the first quarter of 2006–07.
The Air Transport Operations Group’s operational headquarters moved from Canberra to Brisbane. This move was finalised in late 2006.
CASA consolidated its general aviation field offices into five regions. The offices are now known as ‘regional offices’ to better reflect their coverage (see Figure 6).

The appointment of a second deputy chief executive officer, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Strategy and Support, in October 2006, was accompanied by several other changes to CASA’s structure. The Personnel Licensing, Education and Training Group, Legal Services Group, Planning and Governance Office and Information Services Group now report to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Strategy and Support, while the Air Transport Operations Group, General Aviation Operations Group and Manufacturing, Certification and New Technologies Office report to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Operations (see the organisation chart). Currently the Finance Office and Human Resources report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, but will report to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Strategy and Support as of 1 July 2007.
