VH-ZMX - Amateur Built Aircraft JABIRU J400
This photo was taken of VH-ZMX a J400 Jabiru (4 seater) at the Easter SAAA National Convention in Wagga Wagga. It was built by Brent Christensen in 600 hours over 6 months of part time work from August 2003 to January 2004. This example was the first flying in Victoria of around 150 kits produced by the Bundaberg factory. The J400 weighs in at 330 kilos with a MTOW of 700 kg's, cruises on 125 knots with a fuel burn of 25 litres per hour - an economical and comfortable cross-country cruiser.
