VH-ZIS - De Havilland Aircraft Pty Ltd DH-82A "Tiger Moth"
This aircraft is a de Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth, VH ZIS. It was built for the RAAF and entered service in December 1940 with Serial Number A17-214. It saw service in Richmond, Essendon, Benalla, and Western Junction in Tasmania. After the war it was sold to the Tasmanian Aero Club and registered VH AQF. It was later sold to the Latrobe Valley Aero Club and after that became a crop duster in Morwell. It was deregistered in 1963. Its present owner commenced a complete restoration in 1999 and it first flew as VH ZIS in August 2001.It is painted in the original de Havilland flying club colour scheme.
