Recognition of Overseas AME Licences

To be eligible for an assessment of your overseas AME training and experience you must have held one of the following qualifications granted by the competent authority of a Contracting State for more than six months:

  • A valid, current AME Licence issued in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Personnel Licensing Manual (Annex 1, chapter 4)
  • A valid, current Licence without Type rating (LWTR).
  • A valid, current Licence without Type rating together with a Company Authorisation (Approval) for aircraft/engine/avionics maintenance in relation to the licence.
  • A valid, current Airframes & Power Plant (A&P) Certificate issued by the USA's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
